Rumah Des Indes is an exquisite 6 bedroom residence in the Balinese village of Perenenan near to Canggu and only a few minutes’ walk to the beach. It’s also only ten minutes drive to one of Bali’s most famed 18 hole golf courses.

The villa has two separate residences; the main house with its expansive living and dining areas, bar and three master suites and the guest house with three further suites all with en suite bathrooms and spacious deck overlooking the villa’s tropical garden and pool.

Whilst relaxing in Rumah Des Indes’ living room you are surrounded by Indonesian antiques, traditional works and of art and Balinese wood carvings. Interesting books and magazines on Indonesian art, culture and nature can be found throughout the residence and its simply the perfect place to unwind with tropical birds and butterflies fluttering by. There are several options for dining from a grand antique table to a relaxing outdoor lounge under the stars and the bar is a fantastic meeting point for pre dinner cocktails.

The main house has 3 bedroom suites, two on floor level with walk in wardrobes and en-suite bathrooms. The entire upper level hosts the largest bedroom suite which boasts fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding rice fields and includes a lounge area and en-suite bathroom too.

The Guest House has a spacious deck with breakfast table and lounge and houses three additional bedroom suites, two of which have en-suites and the third has an interconnecting door to the en-suite.

The mature tropical gardens of Rumah Des Indes include fragrant frangipanis, oriental bamboos and a wonderful lotus pond with a twenty metre organically designed lap pool as a centerpiece. Rumah Des Indes is a 6 bedroom villa near to Canggu on the South Coast of Bali. There are six bedroom suites with this large residence. Three of the bedroom suites are situated in the upper tier of the main house, two on floor level and the third master suite upstairs.

The two ground level suites have antique style Indonesian beds adorned with Egyptian cotton sheets, antique dressers to house belongings and walk in wardrobes. Original paintings by famous Indonesian and foreign artists adorn the walls. These bedrooms open out with sliding doors onto tropical gardens with outdoor lounges to allow guests a little private relaxation. Each suite has an en-suite bathroom in colonial style and outdoor garden features. The third bedroom suite in this luxury villa in Perenenan is very spacious and boasts serene panoramic views of the surrounding emerald rice fields. The entire upper level plays host to this suite with antique bed, lounges and en-suite bathroom

The Guest House also includes three bedroom suites, again with Indonesian antique furniture and art. Two of the bedrooms have en-suites and the third, smaller bedroom has an interconnecting door to the en-suite. Rumah Des Indes has been designed for all forms of dining from the most relaxed dinner party to a formal event. The living and dining area, which opens out onto the pool below, includes a formal antique dining table. Several circular tables and chairs rest poolside for relaxed dining and there are further dining options on the decks overlooking the gardens.

Atmospherically lit at night, we love to set out banana leaf candle poolside and include traditional village dance performances into our evening’s entertainment! Dinner parties are our passion and we often host celebratory dinners for guests beginning with canapés and cocktails at sunset followed by a dramatic dance performance and traditional Indonesian Ristaffel buffet dinner. The gardens and swimming pool of Rumah Des Indes really are a key highlight of this luxury villa in Bali. Starting from the grand entrance through the ancient Chinese Indonesian doors, the garden entices guests to meander through the residence and observe its fragrant offerings. The most beautiful birds and butterflies grace Rumah Des Indes with their daily presence and jewel colored dragonflies skim across the lotus pond.

The villa pool is organically designed to curve around the foot of the main house. Decks are both ends house relaxing tables, chairs and poolside lounges. With a twenty meter length, there’s no excuse for not getting a little active during your stay too! A captivating mix of traditional Indonesian artifacts and Colonial style furniture are signature to all Des Indes Collection properties. The walls are draped with Corravubius originals and Batik depictions of local life.  The attention to detail in Rumah Des Indes is unsurpassed. Balinese gamelan instruments and an old fashioned croquet and golf set rest outside the guest house, reminiscent of Colonial life in the East Indes. Ancient wooden and stone carvings depict Hindu gods. Every piece of antique furniture has been carefully handpicked by the owners and is immaculately maintained. There’s simply always something fascinating to look at in Rumah Des Indes!
